Donnie Gayfield, LCSW
I have worked in the field of behavioral health since 1994. I began my journey as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker by working as a drug and alcohol rehabilitation counselor. I expanded my counseling skills while working for the University of California San Francisco for seven years as a HIV Case Manager. My work as a drug counselor and HIV Case Manger afforded me the opportunity to gain experience in supporting clients who are struggling with addictions, grief, health challenges, sexual orientation, depression, personal distress,
relationship issues, family issues and the challenges of adolescence. In my present work as a Dialysis Medical Social Worker, I continue to gain experience by supporting individuals whose lives are impacted by chronic illness and depression.
I obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley. Thereafter, I earned my Masters Degree in Social Welfare from San Francisco State.
I completed my post degree requirement of 3200 supervised clinical hours and passed the exams required to become a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. Additionally, I am a certified Grief and Loss Counselor.
